Habitat for Humanity of Mason County is a Christian based housing ministry with the mission of eliminating substandard housing in our community one family at a time. Utilizing volunteer labor, donated materials and land, charitable contributions, and no-interest loans, we provide affordable housing for deserving families in Mason county.

Founded in 1996, HFHMC has built 16 homes in the Mason County area by challenging individuals, congregations, businesses and other organizations to lend a hand up, not a hand out to those in need of better housing.

Our goal is to end substandard housing. We accomplish this by building houses with donated funds and volunteer labor. We sell the homes at our cost with no-interest mortgages to families who are qualified for the program and who have earned or completed their sweat equity. Principle payments are used to build more homes.

Habitat for Humanity of Mason County is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. Our mission is to build simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with all God's people.

As part of Habitat for Humanity International, we tithe ten percent of our donations to build homes in countries we have designated. In addition to the sixteen homes we have built in Mason County, our tithes have build five homes in Mexico and Haiti.
